New to Canvas? This workshop provides the information and skills you need to start using Canvas, New Mexico State University's learning management system. After an overview of Canvas and its major components, we'll work hands-on and step-by-step to learn the basics of using Canvas and how to build a course, in addition to finding self-help resources.

By the end of this workshop, users will be able to:

• Log in to Canvas, create and organize course content and make your course available to students.
• Update Profile and customize course tabs.
• Publish and unpublish the course.
• Set up assignments to appear in the Gradebook.
• Use predictable course design principles to make course content easy to find for students to utilize.
• Find where to go for self-help resources.
• Request Canvas Development courses to have an area to prepare and test.
